Rose Couture No. 1 Div I. Honorable Mention, Photography

My love for photographing florals includes those that are "past their prime". I like to think of them as "in their prime" as the textures, wrinkles, and vibrant colors stand out. My aging self really appreciates them at this stage! This one looks a little like a ball gown, hence why I named it Rose Couture. I shot this by creating a black tunnel using vflat panels. I placed my flower in the foreground about 6 feet in front of the tunnel and shot with a macro lens and off camera flash to light only the flower and not illuminate the black tunnel, keeping the black background very black.
