Grace Div. V-H, Second place, Drawing

Used colored pencil over watercolor, to develop the temperature in the skin and background. This piece was composed by me, through the use of experimentation with design, the strands of hair lead the viewer into the piece although the focus stares out, the pearls too lead the viewer back into the piece as there is a prevalent use of highlights on the pearls. Pearls were drawn through observation. The piece is a depiction of surrealism depicting how I feel like the afterlife for me will be like. The floral work in the piece draws attention to the overall message as it depicts the beauty and subtleness of the afterlife.
