Burnt Offerings
This work is part of a series that explores grief, hope and connection, using a variety of materials and techniques. Burnt Offerings was made by burning materials and using smoke and charred canvas to create marks. It has a light feature that is placed behind the canvas and which pulsates slowly like a heartbeat. It is difficult to receive that information from the photo, but I was able to capture a shot while the light was emanating from behind.
