This is my first self portrait. My inspiration was drawn from an encounter I had while releasing a monarch butterfly after it hatched from its chrysalis. I am a 10 year cancer survivor and special needs mom so I wanted to create a piece that would encompass bravery, perseverance, growth, transformation, wisdom and love.
